Sammon's projection is a nonlinear projection method to map a high dimensional space onto a space of lower dimensionality.

I've just encountered a interesting looking algorithm for optimization: The Bee algorithm.
Quite easy to implement - but I have to do further studies on this algorithm to provide more information.

The principle is - what a wonder - inspired by bees. Mathematically speaking it can said that the search space is split into smaller spaces whereupon these spaces are explored by the bees. The best position in each space is kept and a next iteration is done until a quality criterion is met.
